Why They Want to Substitute Teach

I want to be a substitute teacher because I enjoy working with children and supporting their academic and social emotional growth. I am currently pursuing my degree in early childhood in elementary education and substitute teaching will allow me to continue gaining valuable classroom experience while learning from different teachers, students and school environments. I am excited about the opportunity to create a positive safe and engaging learning environment while helping students remain successful and on track when their regular teacher is away.

About Them

I would describe myself as caring, dependable, patient and energetic and adaptable. Education and working with children are very important to me and I enjoy finding ways to make learning, engaging and meaningful. Outside of education I enjoy spending time with my family, staying active and working out and continuing to learn and grow personally and professionally. I believe every child deserves to feel safe, respected supported and include included in the classroom. I value building positive relationships with students and families and creating an environment where children feel comfortable being themselves while reaching their full potential.

Experience with Children

I have several years of experience working with children in both early childhood and school settings. I worked as a lead teacher at The Gardner School, managing daily routines, planning and leading learning activities, supporting children’s academic and social, emotional growth and communicating with families. I also served as a teacher, assistant and mentor at Spencer technology school, where I provided 101 and small group support for students academic behavioral and social needs. I am currently pursuing my degree in early childhood education and I am passionate about creating safe, supportive and engaging environments for children.
