Why They Want to Substitute Teach
I want to become a substitute teacher because I genuinely enjoy working with children and helping them learn and grow. Through my experience coaching hockey and softball, working as a personal trainer, nannying, and babysitting, I have developed strong communication, leadership, patience, and classroom-management skills. I also see substitute teaching as a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a classroom setting and learn more about teaching. My long-term goal is to pursue a career in education and become a teacher, so I believe working as a substitute will allow me to build my experience, learn from educators, and better understand what it takes to create a positive learning environment for students. Most importantly, I want to be someone students can rely on to support them, encourage them, and make their school day a positive experience.
About Them
I am a dependable, energetic, and positive person who enjoys working with and helping others. I am especially passionate about working with children and creating an environment where they feel supported, encouraged, and confident. My experience as a hockey and softball coach, personal trainer, nanny, and babysitter has helped me develop strong communication, leadership, patience, and problem-solving skills. I am someone who is willing to learn, takes responsibility seriously, and enjoys building positive relationships with others. I work well in fast-paced environments and understand the importance of being flexible and dependable. I am also interested in pursuing a career in education, and I am excited about opportunities that allow me to gain experience working in schools and make a positive impact on students.
Experience with Children
I have extensive experience working with children in a variety of settings and age groups. I have coached both hockey and softball, where I developed my ability to teach skills, lead activities, encourage teamwork, and create a positive and supportive environment for children. I have also worked as a personal trainer, which has strengthened my ability to motivate and communicate with individuals while helping them build confidence and develop healthy habits. In addition, I have experience working as a private nanny for a family whose parents are both educators. This experience gave me a strong understanding of the importance of creating a structured, safe, and engaging environment for children while supporting their individual needs and development. I have also provided regular babysitting, giving me additional experience caring for children, managing routines, keeping them engaged, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Overall, my experience has taught me to be patient, responsible, dependable, and adaptable when working with children. I genuinely enjoy helping kids learn, grow, and feel confident in themselves.
