Why They Want to Substitute Teach
I enjoy working with children and find it very rewarding to support them, teach them, and be part of their learning experience. I am interested in becoming a substitute teacher because it would allow me to use my experience working with children and families while continuing to grow my teaching skills. My son attends school outside of our immediate area, so being able to work at a school closer to where he is during the day would also be ideal for my family. It would allow me to make better use of my time and avoid having to commute back and forth home while he is at school.
About Them
I am a caring, curious, and family-oriented person who enjoys learning and helping others. I have a background in economics, and I have always been interested in education, child development, and creating opportunities for children to learn and grow. As a mother and an aunt to many children, I have been actively involved in their education and development. I have participated in homeschool co ops, where families work together to provide educational and social learning experiences for their children. These experiences have given me the opportunity to learn from different teaching approaches and to work with children of different ages and personalities. I am also a birth doula and midwifery student, with a strong interest in maternal and newborn health and holistic wellbeing. I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, learning new things, and serving in my community. I value kindness, respect, responsibility, curiosity, and creating an environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to do their best.
Experience with Children
am a birth doula and currently a midwifery student, which has given me extensive experience supporting families during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. As a doula, I regularly support families with the basic needs and care of newborns, as well as sibling care and helping older children adjust to the arrival of a new baby. This work has taught me to be patient, attentive, nurturing, and responsive to the individual needs of children and families. I also have experience teaching. I worked as an accounting teacher at a college in Colombia for one year, where I developed skills in classroom management, communication, and adapting instruction to students' needs. Additionally, throughout my involvement in my church, I have consistently served in teaching roles with children and youth. These experiences have strengthened my ability to create a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment for children of different ages.
