Why They Want to Substitute Teach
I want to be a substitute teacher because I genuinely enjoy working with students and helping them feel more confident in the classroom. My prior experiences taught me how important patience, encouragement, and adaptability are when working with different students. I also enjoy being someone students can feel comfortable asking for help. Substitute teaching would allow me to continue supporting students while gaining more experience working with different age groups and classroom environments.
About Them
I would describe myself as outgoing, curious, dependable, and someone who enjoys connecting with people from different backgrounds. I have a strong interest in international relations, marketing, culture, and languages, which has shaped the way I see the world and made me value learning from different perspectives. Outside of school and work, I enjoy playing soccer, traveling, trying new things, and spending time with my family and friends. As the oldest of six siblings, I have also always been comfortable taking on responsibility and being someone others can rely on. I enjoy helping people, building connections, and being part of environments where I can continue learning while also contributing to others.
Experience with Children
I have several years of experience working with children in educational settings. I volunteered with Reading Partners, where I worked one-on-one with students to strengthen their reading and literacy skills. I also served as a teaching assistant in college, supporting students and helping with classroom activities. In addition, I have tutored students in English, math, and Arabic, adapting my approach to different learning styles and needs.
