Why They Want to Substitute Teach
As a fourth-year medical student, I have more flexibility in my schedule and would like to use that time in a meaningful way. Teaching and mentorship have been important parts of my medical education, and I have enjoyed working with students through tutoring, mentoring, and coaching. Substitute teaching would allow me to continue working with students while supporting schools in my community.
About Them
I enjoy playing basketball, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, cooking, biking, and spending time outdoors. I value curiosity, service, and treating others with respect, and I try to bring those values into both my professional and personal life. I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and learning from their perspectives and experiences.
Experience with Children
I have several years of experience teaching and mentoring students of different ages. I have worked as an ACT/SAT instructor, served as a medical school tutor and peer mentor, and coached middle school students through a speech and debate program. I have also led educational activities for children through community service programs, which has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and create a supportive learning environment.
