Why They Want to Substitute Teach

I want to work as a substitute teacher as a way to gradually return to the classroom while exploring different schools and educational environments. I enjoy working with students and want to continue using my teaching experience while gaining exposure to different grade levels, schools, and classroom settings. I also see substitute teaching as an opportunity to learn more about what type of school environment and role would be the best fit for me long-term.

About Them

My hobbies include cooking and baking, spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, trying new activities and places, caring for my pets, and enjoying creative and relaxing activities in my free time.

Experience with Children

Babysitting Tutoring Camp counselor Teacher After school programs Other childcare experience

I have several years of experience working with children in educational, childcare, and tutoring settings. As a 2nd grade teacher at Brook Park Elementary, I taught and supported elementary students academically, socially, and behaviorally. I planned and delivered instruction, managed a classroom of students with diverse learning needs, communicated with families, and provided individualized and small-group support. Previously, I worked as an Early Preschool Teacher at Primrose School, where I cared for and taught children ages 2–3. This experience strengthened my skills in early childhood development, classroom routines, communication, and creating a safe and engaging environment for young children. I also worked as an assistant at Kumon, where I supported students with academic activities and helped them build confidence and independence in their learning. In addition, I have experience working with children through babysitting, nannying, and YMCA before- and after-school programs. Overall, my experience has allowed me to work with children ranging from toddlers through elementary school and has given me strong skills in communication, patience, organization, supervision, and supporting children's individual needs.
