Why They Want to Substitute Teach

I want to be a substitute teacher because I want to gain hands-on classroom experience while I finish my college degree in May. I have a heart for teaching young people, especially history, and I want to learn how to become a better educator by working directly with students. I also have a strong desire to encourage students who have learning disabilities. I want them to know that having a learning disability does not mean they are not smart or capable. I want to help students recognize their strengths, believe in themselves, and know that they are worthy of support and the opportunity to succeed.

About Them

I would describe myself as someone who enjoys learning, serving others, and building meaningful relationships with people. I have a strong interest in history, education, technology, and ministry. In my free time, I enjoy working on technology projects, learning more about history, spending time with friends, and being involved in church and ministry. My Christian faith is an important part of my worldview and influences how I try to treat others. I believe every person has value and should be treated with respect, patience, and kindness. I especially have a heart for young people and want to encourage students to recognize their strengths and understand that their challenges do not define their intelligence or worth. I also enjoy helping people solve problems, whether that is through technology, teaching, or simply being willing to listen and encourage someone.

Experience with Children

My experience working with children has mainly come through ministry. While serving with YWAM, I had opportunities to work with and interact with children through ministry and outreach activities. I also had some experience working with children and young people while I was at Word of Life.
