Why They Want to Substitute Teach
I love teaching, but made the decision to leave the classroom in order to focus on family. While I’m not in a place to re-enter the classroom full time, I am eager for an opportunity to get back into the classroom while keeping some flexibility for my own family care.
About Them
I love learning. Whether reading new books (fantasy is my favorite!), taking math classes for fun (I’ve signed up to re-take Calculus this fall!), traveling new places (yes, even with three kids!), or learning new skills (I jumped in to lead cub scouts without having ever camped before and it’s been three awesome years in that role already!)… I approach life with curiosity and wonder. And teaching is an extension of that. To be able to share not just the content (math is the best), but a passion for learning in all areas is my calling.
Experience with Children
I was a high school math teacher at Southwick Regional School for about 8 years. More recently I’ve worked with younger children as a Cub Scout leader, T-Ball coach, and classroom volunteer in my kids’ classrooms.
