Why They Want to Substitute Teach
Education is paid attention to less than it has ever been before, yet it is the most needed thing in our current climate. While I still have my youth, I want to use my energy to give to the future generations as much as I can. What I have learned from teaching is that you learn far more from the kids than you will ever teach them. I hope to take these lessons and feed them back into the system to help grow the community. While subbing can seem as a mundane or daunting task, I think it is a great way to begin learning everything about the teachers, kids, and culture of the community.
About Them
I enjoy everything soccer related, Irish Hurling, drawing, running, video games, writing, writing, and writing. I don't know if anyone will read this, but my worldview is that as humans there is a beginning and an end. That is beautiful, and I want to teach kids to enjoy life to the fullest. Find something that they love when they are young, find a leader in that field that they look up to and is doing it the best, and go for it. It can be saving the amazon rainforest or as simple as being an amazing gamer. It does not matter to me as long as they love themselves and gain joy from what they are doing.
Experience with Children
I have completed 2 student teaching experiences, one in the United states and one in Spain. I have coached kids in soccer for the high school, middle school, and elementary school level. I have subbed in the Butte school district at all levels for two years. I have subbed for Lane ESD for life skills.
