Why They Want to Substitute Teach
I want to substitute teach because I genuinely enjoy working with children and being part of a school environment. I love the energy of schools and the opportunity to make a positive impact, even in a short amount of time. With my background working with children and families, I feel I can bring patience, compassion, and a positive attitude to the classroom. As a new mom of two, I’m also looking for something that provides flexibility and allows me to balance my career with my family.
About Them
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and making memories with my kids. We love being around the lake, fishing, exploring East Tennessee, and spending time outside. I also enjoy CrossFit, supporting the Tennessee Vols, and staying active. Family time is especially important to me, and I love finding fun activities and adventures to enjoy together.
Experience with Children
I have 10+ years of experience in social work, working with children and families in a variety of settings. I’ve also taught gymnastics for several years, worked at the Boys & Girls Club, and served as a site director for a city schools afterschool program. I truly enjoy working with children and creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment where they feel comfortable, valued, and encouraged. My experience has taught me the importance of patience, compassion, and meeting each child where they are.
