Why They Want to Substitute Teach

In my time as a counselor, orientation leader, and college student organizing student events, I learned that community is what I most seek in life. I am lucky enough to have found, built, and fostered community in the areas mentioned above and would love to extend that to students in traditional learning settings. I loved learning as a kid and was frequently overheard helping my peers with assignments, study sessions, and homework. I want to continue that service and support students in a welcoming, understanding, accommodating environment.

About Them

My degree is in creative writing, and I am pursuing it right now separately from a career, as something I can do when I have the energy and capacity to. I write primarily creative non-fiction and like to experiment with form. I like writing speculative fiction, imagining what our world may be like if we were to change one crucial societal detail. My goal is to eventually teach CRW to students. I enjoy listening to music and playing the guitar, being around loved ones, laughing so hard my stomach starts to hurt, trying new things, and meeting new people. I love solving puzzles, doing escape rooms, and playing board games. I am constantly finding new hobbies and things to do and love to fill my time with enriching activities.
