Why They Want to Substitute Teach
During my final year of college, my class schedule shifted to the afternoons on two days of the week. While this opened up more availability overall, it conflicted with my hours at the after-school program, and I ultimately had to step away from the position. I truly enjoyed working with the students and building meaningful relationships with them. One of my favorite parts of the job was creating a space where they felt comfortable enough to trust me and share little stories about their lives, friends, and families. I would love the opportunity to continue working with children for the remainder of my college experience, as it’s something I’m really passionate about.
About Them
I’m an outgoing and approachable person who enjoys connecting with others and making people feel comfortable. I’m able to adapt my personality to work well with different types of people, even in diverse environments. I’m currently in my final year of college, and I’ve always had a strong passion for working with kids. Growing up with five nieces and nephews, I naturally developed a love for being around children. During my final year of high school, I enrolled in a class where I worked with preschoolers, helping them with reading and activities. That experience sparked my interest in childcare and eventually led me to my role in an afterschool program.
