Why They Want to Substitute Teach

After retiring from teaching six years ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to spend several years traveling the world and experiencing different cultures and communities. Now that I have settled in a new area, I find myself missing the connection and sense of purpose that came from working with students. Substitute teaching feels like a wonderful way to return to something I have always enjoyed, become part of my new community, and use my years of experience to make a positive contribution in the classroom.

About Them

I am a curious, open-minded person who genuinely enjoys learning about people and the world around me. Travel is one of my greatest passions, and my experiences exploring different places and cultures have given me a deep appreciation for the many ways people live, learn, and see the world. I believe experiencing other cultures helps us become more understanding, compassionate, and connected to one another. When I’m not traveling, I enjoy hiking, spending time outdoors, and, most importantly, spending time with my family.

Experience with Children

Teacher

I have 25 years of experience working with children and young adults as a classroom teacher. Throughout my career, I have worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles, and I have always focused on creating a classroom where students feel safe, respected, and supported. My experience has taught me to be patient, flexible, and approachable while maintaining clear expectations and a positive learning environment. I especially enjoy building connections with students and helping them develop confidence in themselves and their abilities.
